What the Parents can expect!

VAS Parent participation / donation is always welcome for the following upcoming events. We appreciate every bit of help you can provide, no matter how big or how small! Our children benefit from everything we do for the school, be it field trips, family fun nights, 5^th grade moving up ceremony and so much more.

Here are some events that need your help.

 

But first, get this: You can join the PTA by paying the $7.00 fee. You are not obligated in anyway to help even though we would love to have you come and be a part of your child's school community.                                    Chances are your child will love it too!

All Fundraiser Events: Sell to your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers. A percentage of all proceeds made are directly helping your child(ren).  They may receive new kickballs, chalk to use at recess, school supplies, field trips, library books, a special class party for working hard and much more!

 

Boxtops/Campbells: Clipping these from your packaged foods, tissue boxes etc. throughout the year and handing them into the school help raise money for the children. Each class competes for the most boxtops collected and can win a class party! Simply put your cut boxtops in a sandwich bag and put your childs name & class on it. There are 2 contests a year. Specific dates for drop off will be announced.

 

Fall Picture Day: A few parents are needed to help with the kids, comb their hair, make sure their faces are clean... It’s a great way to meet your childs friends and teachers!

    Harvest Night:  This is a very spooktacular night for children and parents of VAS!  The helpers for this event will love anything to do with being crafty, a little creepy and creative.  Become part of a team and volunteer to run a game booth, help pass out refreshments, or help with setting up and taking down.  This is a big event that packs a lot of fun into one night!

Fall Bake Sale:  MIX, BAKE, BUY!! Whatever you can do is always welcome to raise money for the school. We set up a table in the main lobby and sell these goodies that are donated by parents, staff & community to whomever would like buy them. Fresh baked or store bought is fine!

 

Fundraiser Pickup& Dropoff: These helpers will organize orders upon drop off at VAS and prepare for pick up. Along with PTA members and parents you will greet and hand out what was bought to the appropriate families.  Another good way to meet members of the VAS community!

 

Valentine’s Day Pancake Breakfast: offer up your services to cook and serve local families at this fun and exciting event! Families that are helping also get to enjoy the fun and sit down to eat!

 

Ice Cream Social & Moving Up Day: We need parents to help scoop up some ice cream for the ice cream social and help hand out fruit cups and snacks to the 5^th graders on moving up day. 5th grade families are encouraged to NOT offer their time so they can be with their graduating student!

 

Teacher Appreciation Week: This is a spectacular way to show the teachers in the VAS family how much we appreciate everything they do for our children. We host a Teacher Breakfast first, which we need food and drink donated such as coffee, OJ, doughnuts, fruit, granola and other breakfast foods and helping hands to set up and clean up. Same applies for the Luncheon, but with lunch foods. Also, we like to make the week fun with giveaways, raffles, donations etc. Making up a gift basket, baking a pie, gift cards, offering a service you can provide, it’s all worth the time and effort when you see the appreciation from the teachers.

We welcome any ideas and or suggestions you may have for these events. Or if you have an idea of your own you would like to present, please join us at our next PTA meeting held the 1^st Tuesday of the Month.
